The renowned music composer Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart was born here. However music is not the only part of its charm. It features amazing baroque architecture in certain areas. The UNESCO has even declared these areas as a heritage site. A few places that one must visit here are:

Mozart Square – situated in the heart of Salzburg, this is a place which you must visit if you are music lovers. True musicians are known to make pilgrimages to the memorial built in honour of Mozart here. The square itself is also beautifully constructed. But it is again, worth a visit.

As most of you must be knowing he was born in 1756. This building where Mozart once lived and worked is today a museum which displays his memories to his fans.

Salzburg Dom – this Dom is the city’s most important cathedral. Opened in 1628, this cathedral with its colourful history and lavish architecture serves to attract a large number of tourists. If you have a taste for good buildings, this is a place for you!
Salzburg Castle – this castle’s name is ‘Festung Hohensalzburg’. Marvelously constructed this fortress is one of the biggest in the whole of Europe. It features picturesque views of the whole city and is certainly worth a visit.

Mirabell Palace & Gardens – the Mirabell Palace is extremely famous for its breathtaking beauty. A stroll along its gardens is the most calming experience one can have.
